Excuse my absence these past two weeks! I made the yearly pilgrimage to our family's farm in northern Wisconsin. This year was particularly special as we celebrated its 100th anniversary. The weekend of festivities brought together four generations of over one hundred descendants. We laughed, sang songs, played games and marveled at the foresight of our ancestors. It was a fabulous reunion and one marked with astonishing amounts of plaid! There's something about farms and the western way of life that beckons the pattern. So with this in mind, this week's Etsy picks reflect my affections for vintage plaid.
My cousin Buck commandeered Amalia's first hayride. All in plaid, of course!
The goats were also greeted in plaid.
This green and white check is a family favorite and made an appearance for our big pig roast dinner.
I realize that for some of you these plaid shirts may bring back memories of 90s grunge however the pattern is far more nostalgic for me. The vintage orange Roebuck shirt is sourced from beachwolfvintage and the blue 70s western can be found at FoxAndSeagull.
These sweet vintage metal picnic baskets make for a charming lunch at the park, beach or even your backyard. The tartan one is being offered by stonesoupology and the green and yellow beauty is sourced from ESPRITVINTAGE.
And of course you must have fabulous vintage napkins for your fabulous vintage picnic basket. I love the varied weaves on this set found at LilyAnnsAttic.
Vintage Pendleton never gets old. I love the rich blues found in this throw. Check it out at MarketHome.
This three piece luggage set is classic 60's. LOVE IT! And their condition is amazing. It's currently being sold by CheekyVintageCloset.
Most people who know me know that I'm obsessed with swing coats. Living in southern California, the weather does not afford me many opportunities to wear wool stunners such as these! So forgive me, I cannot help myself, I had to share! The 50s red trapeze coat is sourced from meijorieshivemind. The tan and charcoal vintage Pendleton is being offered by ForChristyBoxworks.
